We finally landed in Tugucigalpa, Honduras yesterday! This country is beautiful. It's like nothing I've ever seen. We first had lunch outside the airport at little caesars pizza. We actually saw a lot of familiar chain restaurants in the part of the city we drove through. After lunch we drove about  20 minutes around the city to Zion's gates ministry where we would be staying and working for the next few months. The founder, tony, welcomed us and told us all about the ministry. I immediately fell in love with God's work here. Tony has opened his property to selective Hondurans from some of the filthiest streets and dumpsters ranging from infants to 20 year old adults. He provides a home for these kids with food, a place to sleep, but also with fatherly care. These kids have been defined in society as "besura" or garbage. He shared that some have been abused, many have been addicted to drugs (most commonly paint thinner), and some have been subjected to crime and to violence. I've never seen a man of such great faith. No matter how many times these kids leave and have relapses, he'll never stop pursuing them. Despite his own failure he completely demonstrates the truth that there actually is freedom in Christ and that Christ  actually can free us of sin. I have so much to learn from this man.

Since we've been here we've just been hanging out with the kids and with our squad. Life seems so simple here. We're living in tents outside in beautiful weather, we're showing in cold water, and all the food is Honduran and completely homemade! No problems yet with heat or bugs or anything. I'm so so excited to live like this. We're technically taking it easy today and tomorrow to relax and get the hang of things, but we start our projects very soon. I'm so thankful for everything here and I literally couldn't be any happier with how I'm getting to live and serve the Lord here.
